...and the saga continues

This week has been one of the most stressful week EVER. Lots of things to do at work with a minimum time to take a personal breather--blogging for instance.

By the way, I applied via online to a certain telecom solutions provider for a position that involves SAP technology and luckily I was called in for an interview last Friday.

From the headhunter’s mouth, he said that :

1. I'm intimidating

2. He really doesn't know me (duh! isn't that TOO obvious)

3. I'm borderline gay (ugh)

Ok, ok, you should know that I just met this guy and I have no right to assess him whatsoever but I kinda laugh when he said:

“Do you consider yourself as straight?"

To which my blabbing mouth replied:

“As of now I think...WHO KNOWS?"

I meant this as a joke but I think he took it seriously.

"So you mean to say there will be a chance that you will go the other way..." I think I saw his eyes saying yipeee! (behave Jef)

“No Sir, I'm straight as an arrow!" ---gasping---

Oh! Well, I managed to segue our conversation into a much relevant topic of interest. I do have qualms whether I will be hired or not. Dami kasing matatalinong kasabayan! But just to be picked for an interview amidst the thousands of hopefuls is a triumph in itself.

On that note, starting with this post, I would like to present you my Random Quote taken from the vast universe of the place we all love—the internet.

Is it ignorance or apathy? Hey, I don't know and I don't care—Jimmy Buffet

Have a great weekend guys!

I don't know about that "gay" question, but if asked in our situation here, you may have that interviewer job if you want to, or If you have a recording of that, boy..you could sue him and retire on your award..That's is how serious we are when it comes to personal privacy, especially that 'personal'.

morning! hahahaha... why did he ask that question? nasa scope pa ba yun ng work mo gusto mo? at least the interview was not that too formal...
God bless! sana matanggap ka...

banlag --> yun yung counterpart ng 'duling' i guess... if someone look straight his/her right or left eye is going on left or right side... gets? basta hindi sya nagcrocross... duling na yun... gets? i dunno... yun talga yung nakakacatch ng attention ko...

Telecoms ata kasi. Pansin ko ang daming bading sa mga telecoms at call centers, mas lalo na sa Ortigas.

O kaya fishing nga ng personal information sayo. Hehehe.

Hope you get the job. :)

Err, isn't that "gay" question kinda below the belt and discriminating?

Tanong lang, bakit relevant ang sexuality mo sa trabaho?

that was quite funny.

i mean, you were really asked about that...

*gasps while fingering air quotes*

gay question?

LOL

things like that shouldn't be included in interview questions.. i mean, so what if you really are or not, it doesn't affect the way you work things out right?

anyway, passed by. have a nice day! *hugs*

cheers,

you could have asked him back why he is interested about your being gay or not. pero...it could also be a test of how you handle it. and i guess you did good. it could have been one of those psycho questions to determine your reaction.

I dont think he's supposed to ask you about your sexuality. Isnt there a law against that or something? Either way, I'm not sure about working for this guy...I mean if he's a homophobe, just imagaine all the other phobias he has...

GBERT: Hahaha! I'm intimidating but without an ounce of confidence.

SIR VIC: Well, I really don't mind at first though but it did seem such a far fetch question from him now.

PAUL: Wala sa cope pero hayaan na natin. Nakakatuwa lang hehe. Thanks for clarifying about banlag.

BEARETTE: Thanks so much for the good luck! Now that I thought about it, that question was really out of the line.

SNGLGUY: You are right...and even if I were gay, it's kinda insulting.

PILIMON: Sana ganun nga ang answer ko...mas witty nyahahaha! :-0

LIW: I don't know what's on his mind at that time. Maybe it was a personality test to begin with. At first I wasn't offended but he did cross the line. Hopefully, I really could show him what I got apart from ANY orientation I belong.

AIRAH: hello, thanks for droppin in. Yeah, you are right, any man's sexuality is his own private life that should not be asked...and it doesn't have anything to do to begin with with the job specifics!

CAREY: The first that went to my mind was it was just ok...I wasn't offended or anything and yun nga, baka sina-psycho lang ako on how I could handle myself in situations like this.

DAVE: Hey, thanks for the note. I think it's more about being tack especially in a professional interview. I hope he will not ask THAT question on other applicants though.

Hi Jef. I work for a telecom solutions provider. Was that SAP or SIP? SAP is an accounting and business package that integrates with telephony and SIP is a protocol for VoIP phones. Very exciting world....with lots of stress.
I am constantly thought of a gay because I am softspoken. People make all kinds of judgements...ugh..including me..yikes. My wife knows for sure!

I don't get how one's sexual orientation is relevant to the job...

Oh well... I do hope you get the job.

Oh, and by the way... was the interviewer wearing an ELton John T shirt? hah!
